Here’s how to locate your router’s IP address:

Go to ‘start’
Type ‘cmd’ into the search box
When the black box appears, type ‘ipconfig’ and press enter
This will show you your ‘gateway IP address’ – this is your router’s IP address (highlighted in yellow)

Or for Mac OS X:

Go to the Apple icon, then system preferences
Click on ‘network’
Select ‘ethernet’
The IP address is listed under ‘router’.

Making a note of the router’s manufacturer’s information will also come in handy during routine updates and troubleshooting. A router’s model information is typically located on the underside of the router. Its model information and password should be located near its serial number and the manufacturer’s logo.
